Summer Astronomy Program with Barefoot Bob

7:00 PM - 9:30 PM

Event Details

Summer Astronomy program at the Library! Located in the main parking lot. this is the night when the Perseid meteor shower peaks, so we may be treated to a few bright shooting stars when it gets dark. We will start the evening with a look at the crescent moon and Venus, and as they set, we'll view the deep-sky objects of the summer Milky Way and then catch Jupiter and Saturn rising in the east as our program ends.

Bring lawn chairs to sit and watch for meteors when you're not looking through the telescope. We will be turning off the parking lot lights for this program so be careful! Backup night in case of clouds will be Friday, August 13.
